On March 5-8 / 2016 it will take place at the former “Convento dei Minimi” of Roccella Jonica an international exhibition dedicated to the female figure; a tribute to women in the occasion of March 8.
The exhibition aims is the Gender Equality of women in her essence of mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, colleague, worker in several sectors of the modern society. Artists from different Nations will exhibit their themed works, out of their own cultural baggage, sensibility and artistic language.
A sort of “Call to the arts” which will include artists of renown and international importance, together with local artists. A positive interaction of stylistic codes, a certain artistic confrontation that, above all the individual beliefs or limitations of politics, religion, race and lifestyle, works synergistically to create solid foundations for the achievement of the full employment and social equality for women.
Also the budding artists will be called “at the arts”: specifically the youth from the fourth and fifth classes of “Liceo Artistico” of Siderno and Locri. Young talents who are given the great opportunity to exhibit at an international exhibition, to interact with important artists for a certain personal and artistic growth.
The youths, centerpiece of the event, will be called, besides the exhibit of one of their works, to realize extemporary painting works; furthermore, it will be provided a plaque at the best emerging artist at whom will distinguish himself for its technics and expressive skills after the irrevocable judgment of the public.
The vernissage of the event will take place in the spaces hosting the exhibition, on March 5 at 16:30, with the welcome by the director of the issuer Fimmina TV Dr. Raffaella Rinaldis and the art historian Laura Dominici.
In the event’s last day (March 8 at 10:30 am) the mayor of Roccella Jonica dr. Giuseppe Certomà, the director of the issuer Fimmina TV Dr. Raffaella Rinaldis, the psychologist Dr. Daniela Diano, the art historian / journalist Laura Dominici, the artist Mariella Costa and other prominent figures related to the event will report on the female figure in art and history, within the ancient and the contemporary society; the important role of women within the family and all the community areas in which she lives, trying to stimulate the sensibility that is essential for achieving a perfect gender equality.
The event will include side events which will later be given time and mode.
The artists who will be present in the days of the event will be also guests from the Issuer “fimmina TV” in a series of special episodes dedicated to the event, visible on the digital terrestrial channel 634 and streamed on-line on www.fimminatv.it
REGULATION
1) All the artists can participate fully free to the event with a painting, a photo, a graphic work or a visual poetry in the A4 format realized on a cardboard pasted on another sheet of black cardboard as passe-partout of 3 cm side, with the theme of women.
2) The works must be in accordance with the full respect of the planned features and must not contain offensive messages or images according to the logic of common decency, religion, politics, race or sexual orientation of each one, under penalty of exclusion from the exhibition.
3) The works must be sent with a retained segment sized cm. 10×6 laying down: title of the work, technique, name, surname and country of origin (eg. Italy, France, Spain …)
4) The works must be delivered no later than February 25 at: Mariella Costa C.da Canne N° 7- 89047 Roccella Jonica R.C. (ITALY) tel. 0964 85198 – 320 2190196, works delivered beyond the deadline will not be exposed.
5) The works will be exhibited according to the criteria deemed appropriate by the organization that have to be considered indisputable.
6) The works will be owned by the issuer Fimmina TV, except from the works of the guest artists and the installations, which undertakes to carry out set designs for its programs, to expose them in eventual meetings or events or outputting them in other significant places (traveling exhibition).
7) Some artists under unquestionable discretion of the organization will be invited to exhibit as guests or realize installations.
8) The youth attending the last classes of the Liceo Artistico will exhibit in separate sections, while the other artists in the halls of the former “Convento dei Minimi”. Guests and installations will be arranged according to criteria deemed appropriate by the organizing team.
9) The works can be dedicated to: family, work, politics, social, arts and crafts, woman and earth, to multi-ethnicity, or any subject, having always as main theme the woman.
10) For organizational reasons, please give a polite nod by e-mail of the section to which participate.
11) The artists who send their works tacitly accept all the rules laid down in this Regulation.
